Jane's clothes are covered in paint. She has been painting the door.
** Has been painting is the present perfect continuous.
* Let's just be focused in the activity. We are interested in it. It does not matter whether something has been finished or not. In this example , the activity ( painting the door) has not been finished yet.
The door was green. Now it is black and white. She has painted the door.
** Has painted is the present perfect simple.
* Here , the important thing is that something has been finished. " Has painted" is a completed action. The act of painting is done. We are interested in the result of the activity ( the painted door) , not in the activity itself.
